A Home for Those Who Defend the Jewish People
The Efrat Lone Soldiers Center will proudly bear the name of Sgt. Roey Weiser הי״ד, a beloved son of Efrat who fell defending the people of Israel on October 7, 2023.
Born to immigrant parents from the United States, Roey grew up in Efrat’s schools, synagogues, and neighborhoods. He embodied the very best of this community — humility, quiet strength, responsibility without recognition, and an unwavering love for Israel and the IDF.
Today, thousands of lone soldiers serve in Israel’s defense forces. Many face enormous challenges:
- No family support during military service
- Housing and financial instability
- Emotional and psychological strain
- Limited holiday and Shabbat support systems
- Emergency needs without local safety nets
The Efrat Lone Soldiers Center will ensure that those who protect Israel are embraced by a community that protects them in return – transforming strangers into sons and daughters of the community.
Scope & Impact:
- Emotional & logistical support systems
- Holiday and Shabbat hosting
- Emergency response and essential goods
